Growing up in the Bronx, New York, I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. From a young age, I started braiding hair, not only for myself but also for my classmates. By the age of 12, I expanded my skills beyond natural hair styles to include buying and reselling snacks. When I reached legal working age, I worked double shifts at two stores in Times Square. I attended Cosmetology school in 2019, where I not only enhanced my hair knowledge but also developed an interest in skincare. After graduating, I worked at various salons in Tribeca, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, providing all-natural hair care services for men, women, and children. However, I realized that hair styling could not be a long-term career choice, and my dream is to own a chain of beauty supply stores. I have taken a business class to prepare myself for this new venture, but I am aware that 90% of businesses fail within three years of opening. My goal is to be part of the remaining 10% that remains open for 10 years or more. I am currently preparing to open my store in the Bronx, where I will provide all-natural hair care and skincare services.
